Note From Almer About This Piece:

“J. D. Wells was a special man.  Not only a great friend and confidant (not to mention the man who helped us think up the name AlmaNova),  he was also Jessica’s beloved uncle.  If you new J. D. you would immediately know why I chose to title this tune “Dinner with J. D.”.  Dinner,  or any meal with him was an exceptional experience.  He was an expert chef,  chose the best wines,  and had the greatest stories to tell.  It was always a party.  Aside from that,  he had it all:  a great family,  beautiful home,  a fast car,  and was blessed with an intelligent mind and a loving heart.  So,  when his 50th birthday came around I thought to myself,  “What do I get the guy who has EVERYTHING???”  And,  needless to say,  the idea of a song came to mind.  I wanted to write something that captured his kind soul,  witty humor,  and his appreciation for family and fun.  So,  please enjoy this song…  hopefully with a good glass of Cabernet (J. D. would expect nothing less!).”
