Includes three Italian lute pieces (Vaghe Belleze, Bianco Fiore, Danza), plus Bach’s Sarabande, Sor’s Study in B Minor, Tarrega’s Adelita and Fred Hand’s own distinguished arrangement of the traditional Shaker hymn Simple Gifts.  Each piece is taught in detail.  Mr. Hand deconstructs each piece, pointing out possible trouble spots and sharing important tips on technique and interpretation.  He demonstrates such elements as ornamentation; slurs; rhythmic and melodic subtleties; timbral shadings; and the importance of correct plucking strokes.
